Metrosexuals My ASS

Metrosexual was coined in 1994 (as was its noun, metrosexuality) by British journalist Mark Simpson, who used it to refer to an urban male of any sexual orientation who has a strong aesthetic sense and spends a great deal of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle…” – source wikipedia

Seriously since when did blokes start needing a facial or spend $200 in a saloon. When I need a hair cut.. I don’t want it spiked, I don’t want it streaked, colored or whatever… I want them short I want them cut coz that’s why they call it haircut. I don’t want special cream for the night, for the day, to remove wrinkles and refresh my skin. A simple moisturizer will do for me. I like me jeans up on my waist not under it… I like comfort fit not skinny fit. Clothes that are comfortable not clothes that suffocate me.

If you still don’t get it…

It’s about beer not baileys

It’s scotch on the rocks not bourbon mixed with cola in a can

It’s David Duchovny in Californication not Matthew Perry in Friends

It’s Sanjay Dutt not Hritik Roshan

Its Ford Mustang not Toyota Corolla

There is a saying in India “Shero key muh kisne dhoye” which roughly translates to “Lions don’t have to wash their faces to look like lions”.

Human Male’s public toilet Antics

Over the years I have come across many innovative male public toilet designs. Ranging from the “bee in the pot” for a better aim to a steel wall where you can actually relieve yourself all over the wall. But someone needs to tell the toilet designers that after 3 jugs of beer. Wall or no wall they will pee all over the floor. No matter how well you design it.

Besides the design there are a few things males do in the loos.

  1. Either it is the reminiscent of childhood or there is a biological connection between the act and the mouth. But most of the guys will whistle or make a low hmm sound while they pee. It is a very distinct, low sounding whistle. Sounds more like a plea to ease it out of the body.

  1. The act is always finished with a rigorous shaking motion to squeeze out every last drop. Then comes the push backwards of the hips. Well come on… It’s just too big to fit in the pants easily. You got to make room for it. Don’t you know we all have it big :)

  1. It is always a very personal moment. You are standing there staring at a blank wall and your entire life flashes before you. Nah… I wish it did.. would have made it a little more interesting. The bathroom graffiti was probably an idea of a frequent, bored public toilet user. Certainly helps if you have something to read while you pee. The best I read was “Your future is in your hands”. You bet dude it sure is

Chak de India -2

One thing that I missed mentioning from that movie....
Indian Muslims have to prove their loyalty to India.. No matter how hard they try.. No matter how loyal they are... One miss from them and they are branded as traitors... I saw this happen in the case of Mohammed Haniff . The Indian doctor held here in Australia for links to failed London bombings... I saw Indians immediately detach themselves from it ... Saying that a Hindu will never do this... Judgment was passed on him by his countrymen even before he was proved guilty. I am glad he came out good in the end...
Indian Muslims come from the same society and values that is India. No matter what god they pray to they are Indians in the end. The fact that there has hardly been any Indian Muslim involved in the world wide terrorism... is a testimony to that.

Ancient India

It’s a common myth that Aryans came from Europe. A myth taught as history in India. It has been proved beyond any doubt that there was no invasion. Aryans were always here. On the contrary they moved out from India to other parts of the world. Here is the link to an article which systematically disproves the Aryan invasion theory http://www.stephen-knapp.com/death_of_the_aryan_invasion_theory.htm.

Vimans Sahstra : If you have studied or heard Ramayana the so called MYTHICAL story of Indians. Ram came back to Ayodhya sitting in Pushpak Viman. Viman translates to flying machine or airplane in modern English. We can dismiss this reference as another fancy imagination of the writer of the epic Ramayana. Or dig deeper into it. Maharshi Bharadwaja one of the seven great sages of ancient India। Wrote a series of books collectively called Vymanika Shastra. It gives details of various types of flying machines, how to build them and fly them. Few pics of the flying machine described in it.

How many of us know that near the coast of Gujarat near the town of dawarka . Under the sea bed the remains of an ancient city have been found. The size of the city is huge. Is it a coincidence that it happens to be exactly (geographically) at the place where Mahabharata placed Dwarka the capital city of Krishna. And I thought Mahabharata was again a figment of rishi ved vayass imagination. For further read http://www.varnam.org/history/2005/10/where_is_krishnas_dwaraka.php

The ancient texts mention of seven human beings who were immortals. Some cursed some blessed. The seven were Aswa-thama, Bali, Vyas, Hanuman, Vibhisana, Kripacharya and Parashuram. Well spiritually their immortality signifies higher values or lessons. I don’t know if they are actually alive or like most of our ancient texts a MYTH. There have been sightings of a sage with a wound on the forehead in the Himalayas (ref Aswa-thama). But nothing conclusive has been recorded. For spiritual aspects read http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/181437.cms.

Impact of the US housing crisis

  1. Impact on US
  • The chances of a recession are very high. If not a major slow down of the economy will be there.
  • The dollar will come down significantly. We have already seen this happen. More is likely to follow.
  • Inflation will creep up.

  1. Impact on Tech industry in the US.
  • IT is an industry that thrives on good economy. When the companies are expanding, the economy is growing. Businesses look for ways to grow. IT is the way they do it.
  • It’s a different story when things are going down. The first cutbacks come in IT. We saw this happen in 2001.
  • This time around things are a little different though. IT projects are more closely integrated with the business plans and goals. So the impact of a slow down will not be that pronounced.
  • Overall the US tech industry should ride out this problem. There may be some short term problems of layoffs and difficulty in finding a job. But the long term prospects look good.

  1. Impact on India
  • Most of India’s growth has been generated by internal demand. The consumption by the consumers constitutes 62% of the GDP. So the impact may not be very significant.
  • Indian property market also has a bubble in it. The property prices have gone through the roof in the past few years. This bubble will burst… When I can’t say but the US problems have increased the chances.

  1. Impact on Tech industry in India
  • BPO and outsourcing firms will be hit hard in the short term. Firms dealing with the US mortgage industry could already be affected.
  • As the demand comes down in the US and the economy slows. Contracts with the outsourcing firms will take a hit.
  • Also the rise of the rupee or rather the fall of the US dollar will make outsourcing expensive for US firms.
  • In the long run things will be picking up again. As US companies strife for growth after the turmoil. Outsourcing will play a major part in it.
  • Overall this turmoil can be a good thing for Indian firms in the long run. This might just force them to look for work in India. In my opinion there is a huge potential waiting to be tapped. IBM has started doing it. They are generating a lot of revenue by working with Indian companies. It’s a golden opportunity for Infosys, Wipro etc to move up the IT services value chain. Instead of doing the grunt work of IT they can move into the more lucrative consulting business. And given their reputation in India. Indian companies will gladly make them their consulting partners.

I hope the turmoil goes away without causing major damages because if US economy goes into recession, it will significantly slow down the world economic growth rate.

IAF 's Shopping List

When one of the world’s biggest air force goes out for a purchase. With a budget of $10 billion. You can bet the world’s best will come running. Indian Air Force floated global tenders for 126 combat jets in the country’s biggest ever defense deal.

And on the menu we have… the world’s best combat air crafts ever built.

1. Lockheed Martin with F-16 Falcons

Primary Function: Multirole fighter

Speed: 1,500 mph (Mach 2 at altitude)

2. Boeing with F-18/A Super Hornets

Primary Function: Multirole fighter

Speed: more than 1,360 mph

Range: Fighter mission: 400 nautical-mile radius

3. French Dassault with Rafale fighters

4. Swedish SAAB’s Gripen JAS-39

Speed: Mach 1.8

I think it’s a toss up between French Rafale and Russian Mig-35. Rafale for its French, good in combat and fire power. Mig-35 coz it’s a MIG. With the new thrust vectoring
technologyMIG-35’s are the very latest Russian fighter planes.
