Happy New Year

Distance is counted in meters, time in hours... and life in years. Year is the unit that makes a life… One more gets over tonight. We look back in retrospection on the year that was… a year in a (hopefully) very long life. For some it was a year of new beginnings, for some year of endings… Year of achievements, year of disappointments, year of fun, sorrow… The beauty is that we all share the year but experiences are all so different.

Being a social animal relationships form a major part of our existence. Relationships define us. Looking back on the year from the perspective of relationships…some new ones were formed, old ones got stronger… few drifted away into distance and some came closer because of the distance… A unique experience for each one of us…

Looking back at the year I had… Year in which my sister got married… got my first full time job… became a resident of Australia. In terms of relationships… gained a few… One that will remain the highlight of my year 2007… A voice on the phone… Text in the emails… The backup that came good… Helped me find myself again… Great listener, smart enough to surprise me with her unique perspectives :)… So Miss Y wishing you a very happy 2008 and thank you for everything in 2007…

And this for a friend who has stood rock solid in face of adversity… A friend who’s courage will continue to inspire me and everyone who knows him… Hoping we can meet in 2008 Sam…
