Palm Mysteries – 2

It makes the world go around….. It is what people want to know about their lives besides money….. Its about the heart the emotions the love…..

The line of heart …. It’s the top most horizontal line below the fingers…  Going across the palm from bottom of the little finger….

Now straighter the line ….More practical a person is about his/her love… Mind rules the heart… The love is more mental than physical….They are slow to ignite but once committed they stay put for long

If the line is curved and curves up to between the index finger and second finger….. Physical people… Gets in and out of love quickly….Passion runs high in them… Full of life

If the line ends under the longest finger (2nd finger counting from the thumb)…. Selfish in love ….They are in it till they are getting what they want….Bordering on cruel when it comes to love…. And if the line is straight as well they are cold …..

If the line has small lines dropping up and down …. Flirty and Flirtatious …. If the line is curved line they are seasoned flirts….If the line is straight they are flirts but mostly in their minds…

If the line….. is long and goes from one end of hand to another….Very possessive people… Susceptible to jealousy  ….

Break in the line is probably the worst sign to have on this line…. Breaks signify an emotional shock to the heart…. Mostly shows up after a bad break up or divorce or some kind of betrayal in love….They can be repaired….. a repaired line would have a square formed on the break or lines will overlap or the break will join …. Mostly depends on how the person copes with the emotional trauma…

In case of heart line opposites don’t attract … Straight heart line is more compatible with a straight line and curved with curved….

And if you want to know more…..Google it

Why Anna has to be supported.

To the students of history and the ones who have eyes to see... India would have and till today stand out as a unique model in politics and socio-economic processes. The concentration of power with in the hands of the few and ways to keep it that way (Rest) VS Decentralisation of power and ways to keep it that way (India).

To start with the religious/philosophical/spiritual thoughts in India have been varied and widespread.... Budhh , Mahaveer, Krishan... Guru nanak ,, Kabir .... And many unnamed figures have all contributed to the Indic thought.... No one man..... One group can stake claim to be closer to god than the rest... Unlike the one man... .One book... One language... one geographical location philosophy in the rest.... I know because I have direct line to god and you all have to listen to what I say is the underlying thought here....

Common man in India always had unrestricted access to land and gold... The zamindari system as the name suggest was imported from the Persians/Arabs/Turks.... maintained by the British and abolished by modern India ... There are many examples of these systems in the rest .... No king /political entity in India ever restricted common man’s access to gold...Rest have time and again banned their people from owning gold.... Recent example was in 1933 when USA made it illegal for its citizens to hold gold.... When these two resources are concentrated in hands of the few it becomes the source of their power....

Anyone and everyone can rise to power in India.... Gandhi , Sardar Patel... L Shastri ... NT rama rao... Mamta banjeree are some of the examples from Modern India.... Unlike the rest where one has to be either of royal ancestry (UK, Denmark etc) ... Belonging to super rich families (USA) ... Part of some holy fraternity (Arabs,Iran,Vatican) .... Basically any way you can prove your superiority to rule over the rest....

Anna Hazare is all of what is India..... Born and raised up in the consciousness that is India... A common man.... Who has stood up for the masses... Has no identity except he is Indian... Unlike who stand in his opposition ... The likes of Rahul Gandhi who is all about the philosophy of the rest.. ..(Right to rule because I belong to Nehru/Gandhi family).... Stand with Anna to wake up these power grabbers in Delhi and In every state capital..... Remind them India has been very kind to its rulers... Till the rulers were reasonable and just... Aurangzeb paid for his excesses by watching his empire crumble from the revolt of Shivaji and Sikh’s ... East India company lost their control of India after first war of Independence in 1857 and British lost India 90 years after it.....

Battle Anna is the battle of Indic thought VS the rest... A battle that has gone on for centuries and will go on for many more...

Slut walk.. Earth hour.. The shenanigans of Urban Yuppies

It was a proud day for me today... Yesterday my fellow urban yuppies in Delhi taking a cue from the urban yuppies in west (the real trend setters) did a SLUT WALK YO! (And making a V sign with my fingers right now)....

Here is an excerpt from the interview with one of the participants....

Reporter: So how are you feeling doing this today madam

Slutwalker:I cant believe how hot it is... I don’t know how people can walk in this weather....

Reporter: Umm Ok ...What do you have to say for the rights of women in India...

Slutwalker: Oh yeah ... these poor people and villagers get drunk and treat women badly....I think that is very bad....

Slutwalker: Are you taking pictures as well.... Coz you know I bought this PRADA skirt esp for slutwalk... And thank god the sun is out ... My D&G shades go well with my PRADA skirt...

Reporter: Moving on... How about we organise a trip to UP where a number of women have been raped.. We should all do a protest march there to raise awareness....

Slutwalker: Gives a blank look... Are you serious...I can’t go to UP ... Ok hang on.... Are there any good hotels there... I think we can make it a weekend trip...

Reporter as he is about to move on... Is interrupted by the Slut walker... You know what else I have done for charity /social cause... I switched off lights in my house for the earth hour... We bought scented candles for the whole house and lit them while the lights were out.... It was LIKE so cool and it was LIKE so pretty.... we had so much fun... But dad did feel a bit nauseated by all the fragrance in the air and tommy my dog was sick for a week.... But we saved the earth from global warming that day...

My dear slutwalker... Following what everyone is doing is called herd mentality... Why couldn’t you have done a no makeup week.. Where all ladies go without any makeup.. .. Trust me this would trouble men more.. Slutwalk is just more fodder to the already slutty image of women... ..Rest assured this will never happen in the west... As boob job... push up bra... plastic surgery.. botox were not invented in the east... Women have one role there... Look good at every age and in every role be it a mom or teacher..... You really want to follow them to improve image of women?

Ladies of India Mamta banerjee is one leader you can follow... Simple, outspoken, brave, kind hearted a true role mode... (but I guess not glamorous enough) Still have to find a similar icon in the west... Kate.. Michelle, Carla are just style icons ....Only job is to look good and be involved in shenanigans such as slut walk..

What’s it about Delhi Girls

"They are good looking but dumb" … that is the standard line to describe Delhi girls by non-Delhi girls… "They are all very beautiful but the moment they open their mouth it’s all gone with the wind" …goes another version… This is all coming from bella’s from outside Delhi… Somehow the corresponding hommes don’t seem to be bothered so much by the dumbness of these girls…. Well if only they could stop drooling watching these well-kept beautiful girls they would comment…

Are all Delhi girls beautiful and dumb I wonder…. Delhi for most who don’t know is home to four/five/six of the best colleges for women in India…. Its hard for me to imagine a girl passing out from LSR, JMC etc. be called dumb…. Getting in these college’s means you scored at least 85% in CBSE or ICSE and not some easy peasy state board… Sushmita sen, Kiran Bedi, Barkha Dutt, Arundhati roy…. guess what do these dumb females have in common… They all passed out from Delhi schools or Delhi colleges…. So Delhi can churn out such towering intellectuals but still girls are dumb…

Since we are stereotyping here… Let me put out a few… Bombay chi mulgi faster than local train catch her if you can…..Calcutta ki mishti dhoi mistresses of manipulation … Puneri pari mostly has no personality to write about (no offence intended just making a point)

So what is it about Delhi girls that makes non-Delhi babes so Insecure?....

Ps: Haven’t heard any Delhi girl bitch about outside Delhi girls. Aah maybe they are not smart enough to bitch ;)

Perfect Storm Rising for Indian Outsourcing firms

Outsourcing began around mid nineties with the US based businesses looking to further cut production/operating costs and increase profit margins. The bigger trend of cutting costs began in 80’s with factories moving to cheaper locations like China/Asia.

The big push for Indian outsources came with the Y2K bug followed by the dot com boom. It gave them a foothold in the US and European markets. This was slowly and steadily followed by outsourcing of IT support and legacy systems maintenance jobs. Next were call centres and various routine office jobs. Some outsourcers managed to move up the value chain of consulting but major part of their revenue came from supporting and maintenance jobs.

IT what most techies don’t understand is never the revenue earner by itself it always depends on some other business for its revenue. It starts as a business enabler but ends up as a leech. Outsourcing was the way for western businesses to reduce the amount of revenue IT sucked out of the business.

IT in business can be grouped in two broad categories one growth oriented second operational.

Growth group would include things like web based retailing, Business Intelligence systems and operational would be email systems, daily sales reporting and more. All IT systems/projects start as growth options and end up in the operational/liability options.

Coming back to the need/s for outsourcing one was to save cost second was to send non essential services to a third party a simple analogy being electricity (no business produces and manages their electricity needs). India with its low currency rates, low wages and highly skilled educated young workforce was a perfect fit.

Revenue of outsourcing firm is a share of the company/country/economy it serves. Since 2007 this revenue is going down across the two major client economic blocks of Indian outsourcers USA and Europe. In the medium to short term this has proved to be a boon for the IT firms in India but long term this will end badly. As the living standards rise across Asia the wages are going up. On the other hand wages are stagnant or coming down in western world. Soon this wage difference will cease to exist. Maintaining the local currency to a rapidly falling dollar is showing up as inflation of 9-10% across Asia. How long can the Indian and Chinese government maintain this peg is anybody’s guess. If the dollar comes down by 30-40 %( likely scenario in next 8-12 months) its game over for outsourcing. It will simply stop making business sense to outsource then.

If you are a fresh 10+2 student please don’t go into IT. Look beyond the headline like XYZ to hire 100000 graduates next year etc. Everything and everyone in India is geared towards IT (putting all your eggs in one basket rings so true here). Mechanical engineers go into IT; chemical engineers go there, medical graduates, science graduates, arts graduates everyone is into IT. Outsourcers will have to look inwards towards India or across borders in China, ASEAN regions for growth as USA and Europe just don’t have it in them anymore and it’s not coming back to them any time soon.

Zebra crossing ...Copied systems and India

I think it was in 2nd standard social science that we were taught about how to cross roads. You would get full marks if you filled in the blank “Always cross roads from a Zebra Crossing". In real life though there were hardly any zebra crossing to be seen. Even if they were around no one ever crossed from them. It was here in Melbourne I came across a ZC and stood there for the incoming car to pass. The car stopped before the ZC waiting for me to cross. Hmm for the first time I saw how ZC works. Enlightened .....on my recent trip to India…. I stopped before a ZC in CP…. My dad told me it was a bad Idea but anyways…. The stream of people that started to cross just did not stop…. I stood there for 10mins before my dad persuaded me to almost run people down…. Ah well India “kabhi nahi sudhrega” (India will never change) was my comment…. But then ZC was never designed for India… It was designed for countries with less population and roads with less traffic…. Like so many things… we copied the ZC concept from the modern gora sahib…

From our structure of governance…. To our education framework..…. Our justice system… our bureaucracy….. All are imported… I cant tell between a district magistrate and district collector then how would a simple farmer understand it ….But we all understand the concept of panchayat …. It’s a system designed by us for us and it works like a charm….

The selling point for these systems is “This is how they do it in America/UK/Germany/France” yeah of course almighty Americans know what is good for us…. And when they don’t work here we blame the Indians…. Of course the American system cannot have any problems it must be us

Its introducing spoon, fork n knife in a cuisine designed to be savored by hand….Trying to fit middle aged aunties into jeans over the sari that’s designed for their body shape and life style…..

Define your problems and seek solutions based on your ground realities India…. Instead of blindly running to be the west….

Indian film industry seems to have the right idea… They may be loud…cheap…tacky ….repetitive but they are original… They are designed for the masses of India based on their entertainment needs… And the world noticed from Iran to Malaysia Indian movies rule. Think India Think.

Kuch meetha ho jaye

Festivals and sweets go hand in hand in Hindustan.... 5 years since I celebrated any festival in India...Rakhi the ” behna ney bhai ki kalai per pyaar bandha hai” festival was celebrated yesterday across India
In my NRI avatar..... I have my coffee... tea ...milk without sugar... Hardly any ice-cream or cakes or chocolates.... Yesterday had enough sweets to compensate for my 5 years of abstinence... Was hyper active like a child who had too much candy...... Jumping around the house filled with too much sugar .....
No country in the world can compete with India in the variety of sweets available.... So it was a feast of ladoos..... burfis.... gulab jamuns... rassgulas.... kalakands... etc . And in tune with times we had some new more modern entrants.... I think Cadbury should feel proud about the “kuch meetha ho jaye” campaign..... Coz they have successfully made an entrance on the puja ki thali.... Had chocolates... Easter eggs.... Oreos.... exotic biscuits (as long as they did not have eggs in them) along with the traditional sweets (as if they weren’t enough already)....
But it was the sweetness of meeting the family... The smiles that show they are just pleased to see you.... The blessings that are priceless.... The chit chat about the times that were.... the times to come... and the time that are.... Can never have too much of it...

Palm- Mysteries

What does a palm tell about a person…. Besides his/her character, past , present , future it can also tell how clean a person is..... Colour of nail polish can give clues to the fashion sense a lady has…. Or the sexual preferences a guy has (in case he is wearing nail polish)

What can size of fingers tell us about a person…. It is simple and easy to observe…

Fingers shorter than palm short fingers… Fingers longer than palm long fingers….

Short Finger people: Shorter the fingers more impulsive these people are….. Spontaneous….but will think after leaping….Impatient. ….Will make mistakes in a flash and spend more time correcting them ….. Have an eye for big picture…. Can understand the bigger picture faster than anyone…. But will always miss out on the detail… Passionate people who seek action more than thought….Excellent big plan makers but poor implementers

Long finger people: They are exact opposite… They will think and think and brood on for days before making a decision… So much so that they sometime miss the bus….. Patience is their forte…. Attention to details…. They are people who are very good at implementing a plan …But they will take time to make a decision…..

Now

Short + Short : Haste makes waste….. All they will make is waste

Long + Long : Problem with them will be they wont make anything…..

Short + Long : Like opposites attract…. They will complement each other…. Most plans made by them would work out like a charm…

So find your fingers J

And Im short fingers…Long fingers you listening?

Yeah cool cool kya hai… Yeah kool cool

1991 mein Manu key papa ney manu sey pucha beta badey hokar kya banogey….. Manu bola papa engineer

2021 mein Manu asked the same question…. Kid said dad I will be cool when I grow up…

Of course kiddo when you have a daddy cool why wouldn’t you be cool….

Anyways as crime master Gogo wondered in AAA.. Yeah Teja Teja Kya hai…. I wonder yeah cool cool kya hai….

Aamir Khan is cool…..Akshay Kumar was cool before the coolness froze his brains....

What you think of my new ipad… Its cool….. Got a new job …. Cool…. Going to London …. Cool… Answer to so many different questions is Cool… How is this blog post…. Ummm..... Dude blowing your own trumpet not cool…

As Osho Rajneesh once described the versatility of the F word to his supposedly enlightened followers….I embark on this cool endeavour to find coolness in cool….. If you ask someone to define cool…Im sure none would know what it is…. But cool dudes would be able to tell when cool comes around….

Apple seems to have a fair idea of what cool is…. And Microsoft seriously needs a crash course in cool… From the looks of their Founder to workings of their products….

Cool takes on a different meaning if translated in let say hindi…. I mean if a Girl says her BF is THANDA …..Im sure a lot of guys would love to show her how non THANDA they are J

USA is cool….. Australia is cool…. India is cool… Yet global warming…. I wonder

STHAN in PakiSTAN and Urdu in Bollywood

On a taxi trip in Melbourne…My driver for the night was Mushtaq from Lahore in Pakistan…. Mushtaq bhai came to Australia 15 years ago and now is a proud father of two kids….

After initial exchange of “aap kahan sey hai”… Topic moved to bollywood… Mushtaq bhai made a controversial statement that all that we use in bollywood is urdu and claim its hindi….He pointed a few examples of dare de jigar” etc ….

OK sir two can play the same game… Without missing a beat I asked him about the tan in Pakistan….There was a moment of silence in the cab when I made him aware of the fact … That tan is actually Sanskrit word sthan (meaning place) in Pakisthan…. Same as Afghanistan that comes from ashav –ghan –sthan (place of people who tamed horses)… Or kandhar is ancient city of Ghandhar and people from there were called Ghandarvs.... Same goes for Tajikistan, Turkmenistan.

And then made him aware of the fact that Mirza ghalib roamed the streets of chandani chowk in delhi while writing shairi in khalis urdu or popularly called Hindustani then…..

Mushtaq mia it is because of this forever fight of “your and mine”…. Me and you are sitting in melbourne instead of having gupshup over sawaiyan in Lahore or chaat in Delhi….
